Transcendence: A SAM-UP Orientation

PEACE ONCE AGAIN - The event “Transcendence: A SAM-UP Orientation” was held last September 18, 2021, via Zoom, and was organized by the Society of Applied Mathematics of UPLB or widely known as SAM-UP. A total of 74 students have registered and attended with hopes that they would get to know the organization more through this event.

The event had an “Avatar: The Legend of Aang” theme and was very interactive to its participants through the ice breakers and raffles. The discussion mainly focused on the organization’s history that was presented by the current Senior Executive and Junior Executive. Objectives and principles of the organization were also discussed together with the countless events and achievements which showed where and how the organization excels. Opportunities and take-aways in joining SAM-UP were also mentioned. During the testimonials, 2 alumni members and 1 resident member shared their experiences when they joined SAM-UP and how life changing it was. Stories were also told as to how the organization helped them through thick and thin. Needless to say, no one would forget the amount of raffle that was given out to the participants. Every participant received vouchers from different sponsors from registering to winning on the raffle during the event with a grand prize of a TWICE album.
