The Society of Applied Mathematics of UPLB (SAM-UP) has recently held its Alumni Homecoming (AH) with the theme “Relive the Moments” as part of their 35th Anniversary celebration last November 23, 2019 at the Blue Leaf Events Pavilion, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
It was attended by more than 100 alumni and resident members of the organization and was hosted by Mattina Yee, an alumna of the said organization and Roldan Gabayeron, one of the newest members of SAM-UP.
The event started through an opening remarks by the current Senior Executive, Cericca Jacla. Additionally, 10 out of 37 Alumni Senior Executive, was able to attend the event and was given tokens and awards for their undying efforts for the organization. One of them was Mr. Don Cajucom, the Senior Executive on the year 1993-1994, who shared his tatak SAM-UP story with his inspiring speech.
One notable highlight of the event was the establishment of the Alumni Association of SAM-UP spearheaded by Rex Robielos and Raymond Posadas who also discussed the plans regarding the said association and the launch of SAM-UP Application mobile.
The event was ended by a closing remarks from the resident event head, Chazel Cassanova. The said event wouldn’t be complete without the annual giving of awards to the alumni and resident members. Winners were chosen through voting system and they are as follows: AH King: Raymond Posadas, AH Queen: Ged Cagayan, AH Prince: Ken Ynigo, AH Princess: Cericca Jacla, Best Dressed: Chazel Casanova, Henry Bainto, People's Choice: Carl Garra, Erika Amper.
