SAM-UP's Shanghai Party in Celebration of their 35th Anniversary

This year’s theme for the Open Tambayan of the Society of Applied Mathematics of UPLB (SAM-UP) is “Shanghai Party” where the infamous food wrapped in lumpia wrapper are being served to the students of the University of the Philippines, Los Banos. Over 150 people attended the organization’s celebration to their 35 years of prestige, excellence and leadership at the Mathematics Building Lobby, last November 7, 2019. The event started with an opening remark by the Event's EIC, Katrina Dayao.

Several people enjoyed their lumpia-wrapped food, whilst some of them pushed their limits by participating in the Shanghai Eating Contest. Participants were racing to finish 18 different types of food rolled with shanghai wrapper. In the end, contestants were given gift certificates for joining the said contest.

Halfway of the event, gift certificates from the events’ sponsors were given via raffle. The night became more exciting through the performances prepared by Street Jazz Dance Company (SJDC), as they showcased their wonderful choreography, and by UP Silakbo, for their lively musical act.

This thanksgiving event wouldn’t be possible without its event head, AC Maano from batch Hic Manebimus Optime, as he states his closing remark, who led the event and to VG's Cebu Lechon who was one of the sponsors.
