"I think that success is having fun." - Bruno Mars

Positive feedbacks and praises from students for the Society of Applied Mathematics of UPLB (SAM-UP)'s Open Tambayan, which was held in Math Building Lobby last November 8, 2017, soared in social media and other medium.

Pegged with the theme "A Night in the Hive," SAM-UP transformed the Math Building into having a festive mood as the members served free food and prepared fun games for UPLB students during their Open Tambayan. The said event is an annual activity which was in line with the organization's celebration of 33 years of prestige, excellence, and leadership.

"SAM-UP's Open Tambayan is a perfect way of taking a break from a bunch of stressful academic responsibilities. It was really an enjoyable event," Janniel Celis, a BS Applied Mathematics student, said in an interview. Other students expressed their experience in the celebration and their gratitude through social media that made SAM-UP gain several tags. "Sarap ng pagkain ng SAM-UP," @ivanncruz_ tweeted.

More than 200 students joined the anniversary celebration of the organization. The event was also participated by other UPLB organizations. In addition, SAM-UP extended the thanksgiving celebration to street children as they packed food for the children to take home in their family. Moreover, UP Silakbo and Batch Super Stellae Et Lumen, the latest batch of the organization, added excitement to the event as they gave intermission numbers.

"SAM-UP never fails to amuse students with their Open Tambayan every year. Their Open Tambayan is always in the limelight among the other organizations' open tambayans," Danielle Capati, a BS Industrial Engineering student, exclaimed. The event was a success all thanks to Mimay Midel from Batch La Force du Nombre who spearheaded the event and Hanarose Sizzlers who was one of the sponsors.
