INTRA SAM-UP 2017: Building Camaraderie and Unity through Sports

Last April 8, Society of Applied Mathematics of UPLB (SAM-UP) held its annual intra-organizational sports event called Intra SAM-UP with the theme “Building Camaraderie and Unity through Sports” held at Baker Hall and later on at Villa Sherisse Resort, Pansol.

Alumni and resident members came together to engage in a healthy competition through sports such as basketball and volleyball, and a series of mini-games. The first game was a basketball match among the sisses who were divided into two teams. The second was also a basketball match with the residents playing against alumni brods. In the afternoon, the members were divided into two teams and a mixed volleyball match was held.

“Bago pa lang ako sa SAM-UP pero sobrang nag-enjoy talaga ako kahit na nakakapagod siya. Mas naka-bonding ko yung ibang members at may mga nakilala din akong alumni na hindi ko naman masayadong nakakahalubilo. Para sa akin, yung pangalawa yung best part,” Christian Leal stated in an interview.

Moreover, after a series of basketball and volleyball games, the members transferred location to Villa Sherisse Resort where they dined together and played mini-games to further strengthen the bond and unity among the resident and alumni.

Despite some minor setbacks such as a brief tremor caused by an earthquake, it did not stop the members from enjoying the said event.
