Society of Applied Mathematics of UPLB conducted its first Interactive Mind Building Activities (IMBA) held at MB 101 last October 15.
Spearheaded by the two expertise in the field of editing, photography and video editing, Jocaz Entico and Mackie Valenzuela, IMBA aims to build the mind and enhance the skills of interested students in the said fields.
Valenzuela talked about how to edit pictures, posters and other public materials using Adobe Photoshop. He showed videos regarding the elements of design, branding and other needed knowledge to motivate the listeners in creating their own works. He also emphasized on the relationship between digital art and branding.
“Digital art is creating an effective and harmonious balance among the elements of design. Hindi lahat ng elements ay kailangan mong gamitin. Kailangan mo lang pagalawin ang mga lines, points, shapes, sizes, etc. hanggang sa ma-satisfy ka sa result ng ginagawa mo”, Valenzuela stated.
Moreover, he discussed the interface of Adobe Photoshop and their uses. He also let the students try it individually to make their own digital artworks.
Meanwhile, Jocaz Entico lectured about Photography. He demonstrated the concepts of Photography – Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO.
“Gamitin mo lang ‘yung natutunan mong concepts then i-apply mo. Tandaan mo yung effects per concept then adjust mo sa kung anong prefer mo, then capture the image to see the result”, he claimed.
Entico also talked about Video Editing. He used the application Adobe After Effects in creating and editing videos for event publicity.
“Magpractice lang nang magpractice hanggang sa masanay kang gamitin ang mga tools sa After Effects. Because the more you practice, the more familiar the program will be. At may mga madidiscover ka pang bago”, Entico ended.
